White River Falls-Central Oregon: Oregon Landscape Photography

This is a photo of the White River falls in Central Oregon near the town of Maupin. The White River starts at the base of Mt. Hood as runoff from the White River Glacier. It flows from Mt. Hood down to the Deschutes River and is only about 50 miles in length. This is probably the reason why it is always so icy cold, because the water doesn't flow long enough to have enough time for the Central Oregon sun to warm it up. This picture was taken in June while everything was still in full color. The trees in full bloom as the creamy-White River plunges 90 feet over the basalt ledge. Perfect photo to hang on the wall in your living room, office, hallway or bedroom.
