Highway 19 Through John Day Fossil Beds: Eastern Oregon Landscape Photography

Photo of Highway 19 looking south at the southernmost formations of the John Day Fossil Beds. The John Day Fossil Beds cover most of eastern Oregon. The John Day River is over on the left hidden in the lush green grass. This photo was taken in June of 2012 before the hot summer months had a chance to dry everything out. As a result, the grass was still green, the hills were a golden brown, and clouds in the sky for contrast. Even the newly placed shiny galvanized steel guard rail adds an outer stripe to define the edge of highway and makes a good separator between the black top of the highway, and the green grass. This is a picture suitable for framing. Hang it on the wall in your living room, office, hallway or bedroom,or use it to make a post card.
