Christmas in the Grotto: Nativity Scene-Portland, Oregon

Beautiful photo of the nativity scene at the Grotto in Portland, Oregon, taken Christmas eve, 2025. The Grotto is both an outdoor Catholic altar and a serene woodland sanctuary located in Northeast Portland, that features 62 acres of botanical gardens and chapels for introspection. The nativity scene in this photo is at the base of a 110 foot cliff. The nativity scene itself is recessed back into a cave that was carved into the wall of the cliff. It sits on a stone base with the lights behind it reflecting the cave opening. Higher up on the cliff above the opening rests the cross lit up in purple with a star outline. The lights reflecting off the granite of the cave walls along with the purple and blue colors of the cross and angel silhouette above make this a cool photo for sure. Perfect to hang on the wall in your living room, office, hallway or bedroom, or to make a post card out of.
