Abandoned Rustic Falling Down Barn: Eastern Oregon Landscape Photography

Photo of an old abandoned barn on Highway 19 in the Service Creek area in eastern Oregon. It is apparent this barn has been empty for years as it is buried in the grass and shrubbery that has grown up around and through it. The building is on the right side of Highway 19 as you are heading south just before the Highway 207 junction. It sits just behind the Service Creek Cafe Store. It is cool how most of the roof structure has weathered as most of the purlins have rotted away exposing the rafters. Over time trees have grown from inside the building and the branches are actually sticking out through the roof in between the rafters. This photo was taken in June of 2012 and even then the building had a list to it. Today the list is more pronounced and the trees and shrubbery have completely taken over this hidden gem on the side of the highway. It's just a matter of time before it collapses completely. Keep this piece of history alive long after it's gone by hanging it on the wall in your living room, office, hallway or bedroom.
