Vintage Texaco Gas Station: Oregon Ghost Towns

Photo of an old Texaco Gas Station and in the ghost town of Shaniko, Oregon. This gas station is on C Street just off Highway 97 on the west end of town. Currently this old gas station is just for show and is not open to the public, except on the rare occasions the owner will take the covers off the pumps and let visitors look around the place. The building, the signs, and phone booth have been restored to the condition they were when this was a working gas station. It comes complete even with S&H Green Stamp dispenser, and Bank Of America credit card placard, and even an old cigarette machine. Keeping this place maintained is the owner's hobby. If you are passing through Central Oregon and the town of Shaniko, be sure to stop by to see this 1950's classic, or you can hang it on the wall in your living room, office, hallway or bedroom as a memento of an era gone by.
