Cathedral Rock and the John Day River: Eastern Oregon Landscape Photography

Photo taken of the John Day River looking downstream around the corner at Cathedral Rock. Cathedral Rock is part of the Sheep Rock Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument in eastern Oregon. This photo was taken in June of 2012 with that signature Oregon spring partly sunny sky. The rock is alive with a red layer, separated by a dark brown thin layer, with a combination of lighter brown and golden layers both at the bottom and at the very top. Lush green trees, bushes and grass with the river in the foreground. All of it is behind a barbed wire fence to keep everybody out. Frame this picture and hang it on the wall in your living room, office, hallway or bedroom.
