A Hole To Remember-John Day Monument: Eastern Oregon Landscape Photography

Photo of a huge Crevice in the John Day National Monument-Clarno Formation in Eastern Oregon. I know it looks tempting, but unfortunately rock climbing is not allowed anywhere in the John Day National Monument due to the fragile sedimentary and volcanic rock layers. This photo was taken in late May as the rains from earlier in the spring formed a nice reddish hue in the volcanic rocks. This hole to remember can be seen from Highway 218, about halfway between the towns of Fossil and Shaniko. Perfect picture to hang on the wall in your living room, office, hallway or bedroom.
